Fob or battery?

Many key fobs run on a coin cell, and coin cells can lose output in deep cold. In Saint Paul that shows up as shorter range, a button pressed twice or a remote that works only beside the car. Before asking for programming, try a fresh battery and let the fob warm up indoors.

If it still fails, or the car no longer recognizes it at all, it may need to be reprogrammed or replaced.
