Authorization and safety

Worn, damaged, or very old locks may not rekey reliably and may need replacing.
Some high-security or restricted keyways can only be rekeyed through the manufacturer or its authorized dealers.

Common questions

What is the difference between rekeying and replacing a lock?

Rekeying keeps your existing lock and changes which key works it. Replacing swaps the hardware entirely. Rekeying makes sense when the lock is in good shape; replacement is better when the lock is worn or damaged, or when you want a different style or security level.

Can all my doors use one key?
