Anyone inside the car comes first

If a child or a pet is locked in the car, call 911 now instead of waiting for a locksmith. NOAA's state climate summary describes Maryland summers as warm and humid, and a closed car heats up far beyond the outside air. If the engine is still running with the keys inside, say so in the request.

Snow emergency routes

During Phase II or Phase III of Baltimore's snow emergency plan, parking is banned on the city's snow emergency routes. The Department of Transportation says the black-and-white route signs usually sit higher on the pole than other parking signs, and that a car left on a route can get a ticket of 52 dollars and be towed. If you are locked out on one of these streets after a phase is declared, put that at the top of the request, since moving the car becomes the priority. This is general information, not legal advice.

Downtown, the Inner Harbor and residential streets

Downtown and the Inner Harbor form the city's main commercial district, with Oriole Park at Camden Yards and the Baltimore Convention Center among its landmarks. If your car is in a garage or lot there, a street address alone will not find it. Give the garage name, the level and the space or row, and say whether a service vehicle can enter or someone will need to meet it at the entrance.

On a rowhouse block, such as in Canton, give the side of the street and the nearest cross street instead.
