Authorization and safety

We need reasonable proof that you live at the property or have the owner's permission, such as a photo ID showing the address, a lease, or mail addressed to you. If your documents are inside, they are checked as soon as the door is open. If proof cannot be provided, the work stops.

Some high-security or damaged locks cannot be opened without drilling and will need replacing.

Common questions

Will my lock be damaged?

Where the lock allows, non-destructive methods are tried first. Some locks, particularly high-security or already damaged ones, cannot be opened without drilling, and the lock will then need replacing. You will be told before that happens.

My ID is inside the house. Can you still help?

Usually, yes. Mention it when you get in touch. Your documents can be checked as soon as you are inside, or a landlord or property manager may be able to confirm your residence.

Should I rekey after a lockout?

If your keys were lost or stolen rather than left inside, rekeying or replacing the lock is worth considering so the missing keys no longer work.
