Chapter XVI of Kenosha's Code of General Ordinances, the property maintenance code, sets lock standards in Section 16.18. They make a baseline worth matching when you replace hardware on a door into a dwelling unit:

• A solid-core or insulated steel door, with inside hinges or locking pin hinges
• A keyed deadbolt with a throw of at least 1 inch
• A strike plate held by screws at least 2 1/2 inches long
• An approved door viewer on a main entrance, unless a window in or beside the door gives a clear view
