Showing the car is yours

Have papers ready that show the car is yours or that you may use it:

• Photo ID
• The registration or title, in the same name as the ID
• For a leased or company car, the lease or a letter from the business

If the registration or title is lost, the state agency that issued it can replace it. If your papers are inside the car, mention that in your request.

Where the car is parked

The car has to be reached where it sits, so its location shapes the request.

• Kensington Park-Groveland. The Chatham County-Savannah Metropolitan Planning Commission (MPC) describes this roughly 160-acre area, south of the streetcar neighborhoods, as having curving streets and cul-de-sacs. Cross streets help less on a curve, so give the house number and street, and say whether the car is in a driveway or at the curb.
• Downtown garages. The city's garages serve monthly pass holders as well as the public. If the car is in a pass-holder area, explain how a visitor reaches that level, since access there may be limited.
• The west end of River Street. Near the Plant Riverside District, which opened in 2020, name the lot or garage and the level rather than the development.

What to have ready

• The VIN, on the dashboard at the base of the windshield or on the driver's door jamb
