Duluth parks by the week. City Code Sec. 33-97.8 assigns street parking to either the odd- or the even-numbered side for a given week, unless posted signs say otherwise, and cars cross to the other side the next week; the changeover window is Sunday, 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A car locked with the keys inside on a Sunday afternoon may be on the side it is due to leave, so put the day and the side at the top of your request.

If a child or a pet is locked in the car, call 911 first, in any season. A closed car turns dangerously cold in a Duluth winter and dangerously hot in summer sun.

If the keys are locked in with the engine running, check that snow is not packed around the tailpipe, since a blocked exhaust can push carbon monoxide into the cabin.
