Locked out of which kind of home?

A community gate adds a step. Whoever comes to your door has to get past it first, so say whether a code, a remote or a call to a resident opens it, and give the gate's location if it is not obvious.

When the landlord is why you are outside

A lockout that a landlord caused is a legal matter as well as a lock matter. Arizona's statute on unlawful ouster, A.R.S. 33-1367, gives a tenant shut out by the landlord two routes: get the home back or end the lease. It also lets the tenant recover up to the greater of two months' periodic rent or twice the actual damages. If someone is inside

A person, a young child or an animal shut inside a home and unable to get out is a 911 call before anything else. Talk to them through the door if you can, and leave the door and windows alone yourself; a damaged frame becomes another repair on top of the lockout.
