Snow and the curb

Under Section 27-171(a) of Aurora's city code, a car may not stay parked on a public street or alley during or after a snowfall of 2 inches or more until the street is plowed or cleared, and a street does not count as plowed until the lane nearest the curb is done. Commuter lots and downtown

The Route 59 Metra station sits on the Aurora-Naperville border, and each city keeps its own parking lot on its side of the tracks. Name the lot first, then the row or a nearby light pole or sign. Downtown is built around Stolp Island in the Fox River; there, give the street and the nearest landmark, for example Galena Boulevard by the Paramount Theatre.

Never leave a child or a pet in a locked car. If one is inside, call 911 before anything else. In winter, wait somewhere heated rather than beside the car; in summer, a closed car gets dangerously hot even on a day that feels mild.
