Which lock is engaged

Most of Bend's housing is newer: 2024 Census Bureau data put 51.9 percent of the city's homes at 2000 or later. Their entry doors usually carry a bored deadbolt plus a separate knob or lever. In a house lockout request, say which of the two is locked and whether the deadbolt was thrown.

Lots with more than one front door

Bend lets a residential lot add as many as two accessory dwellings beside the main home, so one street address may cover three separate dwellings. Name the door that is locked, give the unit number, and say who else on the lot keeps a spare.

Vacation rentals

While you wait outside
