Where keys give out in Nampa

A key seldom breaks without warning: the blade bends, the lock needs jiggling, or the key is a copy of a copy that never quite fit. Several Nampa settings stack those stresses.

What not to do

• Do not slide a second key in alongside the broken piece; it can push the fragment deeper.
• Do not try to pull the piece out with glue, wire or pliers. Glue that sets in the keyway can ruin the cylinder.
• If the key broke with the lock partly turned, stop working the lock and leave the door as it is.
